Maen Bredwan or Carreg Bica on Mynydd Drumau (Copyright John Hewett 2000)

Maen Bredwan or Carreg Bica on Mynydd Drumau, Clydach,
Glamorgan, Wales.

A monolith 4.3m high of local sandstone known locally as Carreg Bica or pointed stone. It stands high above the town of Neath with commanding views of the South Wales coast. It is in alignment with a site of more ancient barrows on the mountain on the other side of the Neath valley. It is said to bathe in the Neath river once a year on Easter morning. Obviously a christian myth purported to allay whatever fears they may have had.
